Egypt, Eclipse & Jordan

Egypt:Tombs and Totality
In March of 2006, Carson and I went to Egypt to see the amazing tombs
of the pharaohs and witness a Total Solar Eclipse. We crawled our way into
the heart of the largest pyramid at Giza, sailed down the Nile in a felucca,
floated above the Colossi of Memnon in a balloon, and marvelled at the
incredibly colorful paintings of the artisans. The moon was growing daily
until on March 29, it came between the earth and the sun, blackening
the noonday sky, until the stars were bright again and a red sunset glowed
all around. The total eclipse was truely "awesome".
Jordan sits as an oasis of calm in the Middle East. We visited the white city
of Amman, and the pink city of Petra, and followed in the footsteps of Moses
to the Dead Sea. From carraige rides to mud facials, we felt welcome and
enjoyed our stay in this charming country.

Hi there Sunni,

Great photos! I particularly love the one of the entrance into Petra. Great shots of you and Carson too. Where were you in the picture where you are next to a low wall with a cypress behind you?

I hope your day's a great one!
